Perfectly-Imperfect Post 2

Chapter 4

The first 2 months of school were especially hard for her. She was awfully quiet in class and found it hard to relate to the other students. She made a few more friends but she was very reserved. Her schoolmates often wondered if she was always like this. They tried to make her feel comfortable but most of the time they failed. Nicole and Anotida remained her friends and they remained nice to her, even Mako, Nicole’s brother was nice to her but she was never nice to him, especially him. It seemed she had something against him but she never said what it was and he never understood it. She tried all she could to keep her distance from him.

One night after school she phoned her friends from back home. She told them how hard it was for her to cope and she went to the extent of crying over the phone. Her friends told her God would help her, they prayed together over the phone because both Dalia and Nicole were very prayerful. After that phone call she felt so much better yet she still felt she wasn’t quite there yet. “Thank you” she sighed just before she got off the phone.

That night she lay on her bed she decided to talk to God because it had been long since she had. She poured out her heart to God, told him exactly how she felt and she prayed God would help her adjust. “God if this is the life you have chosen for me I need you to help me see it, help me to see the goodness of it. I need you to give me good friends, friends that know you. Let me be a light amongst the friends I have right now. I need you Lord…I really need you” as she said this tears began to flow. She spoke to God for so long. After that prayer she was overwhelmed with peace she didn’t remember feeling before all this. “Thank you Jesus” she whispered and she fell asleep.

When she woke up in the morning everything felt so much better. She was feeling so good and she couldn’t explain it. Every morning she woke up the first thing she would say is “This is the day that the Lord has made, I WILL rejoice and be glad in it” she declared (Psalm 118:24) and every time she did she would feel empowered and joyful. She hadn’t been doing that for the past few months so she thought today would be a good day to start again. She had gotten comfortable and forgot the importance of declaring the word of the Lord over her life. She felt revived. She realised she had not been praying as much lately but she made a choice to make her prayer life better. From the moment she woke up she was praising and worshiping God, it especially felt good because she hadn’t done all this in a while. The better it felt the more she went on.

She began singing songs of praise and worship as she bathed and got ready. Her parents heard all this, neither of them said a word to her or to each other but individually they felt encouraged. “Someone’s in a good mood today” Mrs Ishe said to her daughter as they walked to the car.
“Why do you say so mum?”
“Well you’ve been singing all morning child, I haven’t heard you do that in a while”
“I don’t know, I just woke up feeling different” Adi smiled at her mum. “That’s good Adi”.

For the first time she was looking forward to going to school.
When she got to school she bumped into Mako who was also walking into the school premises.
“Hello Adi” Mako smiled expecting the same cold response he had been getting for the past few weeks.
“Well hello Makomborero, how are you today?”
“I’ve very well thank you ma’am. You’re smiling at me today, is everything okay?” Mako asked with a frown on his face.
“Ah ah! Can I not smile at my friend’s brother?” she replied
“And here I thought I was not just your friend’s brother but also your friend?” Mako replied.
“Ok, let me rephrase that. Can I not smile at my friend?” and they both laughed at that. Mako walked to Adi to her class but couldn’t help trying to figure out why and what was so different about Adi but he couldn’t point it out.
“Please stop looking at me in a weird way” Adi said shyly as she covered her face.
“There’s something different about you today, I just don’t know what it is” Mako told her.
“Bye Mako, maybe I’ll see you after school” and she walked into class.
She was smiling when she walked into class.
“Who made you happy today Adi??” Nicole asked raising both her eyebrows. “Oh wow, your brother’s just said the same thing” Adi smiled
“Hmmm, so is it my brother then?” Nicole teased. The girls laughed and the teacher walked in. Adi was relieved she didn’t have to answer that.

School was fantastic for her that day. She spent her break with the usual Nicole, Anotida and Mako. “I had to spend this break with you, I could get used to you smiling at me but just incase you never do again I never want to forget what you look like with a smile on your face” Mako teased her and laughed
“Oh go away!” Adi said playfully pushing him away.
“Nope! I’m not going anywhere” and they all laughed. Nicole and Anotida were just starring at each other.
“Is there anything you two want to tell me?” Nicole asked “You mean ‘US’?” Dalia interrupted.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about” Adi told them as she looked down. “OooooOoo” the two girls chorused. “Break time’s over ya’ll, back to class” Mako said trying to cover up the whole thing. The girls laughed and went back to class. No one said anything after that.

“You never told me why you’re so happy today, you’re being nice to my brother as well, you have to tell me!” Nicole asked Adi as they walked to the car park after school.
“Well, it’s God” she replied.
“What do you mean its God??” Nicole asked again looking puzzled.
“I spent sometime with God yesterday and he gave me this perfect amazing peace. I asked him to help me because I was having a hard time adjusting to being in a new place and I woke up feeling this way” Adi smiled at her friend. Nicole looked puzzled at this and she smiled but the smile quickly faded away
“I’m serious, I’m not lying to you” Adi said to her friend.
“I would never have guessed that you’re a Christian” said Nicole “maybe I should pray to God to help me understand that maths topic we’re on right now” Nicole said trying to be sarcastic, as if to tell Adi what she’s saying is crazy. “And I’ll pray with you” Adi replied pretending as if she didn’t notice the sarcasm. Nicole just looked at her but didn’t say anything.
“There’s my dad, I’ll see you tomorrow Nicole” and she hugged her friend and ran to the car.
"You're eve giving out hugs" Nicole pointed out while they hugged.
"Keep chatting like that and this will be the first and last hug you ever get from me" Adi pushed her away and ran to her dad.

Chapter 5

Adi felt so amazing. She was chatting to her dad the whole way home. Mr Ishe did not say anything to her but he did notice the difference.
“My daughter’s back, thank you Jesus” he said to God in his heart. He dropped her off because he had to go back to work. Adi phoned Dalia and Nicole and she told them about her day in general, how God had answered their prayer. The girls rejoiced together, they missed each other but phone conversations are going to have to do have to for now they told each other.

Adi was a very beautiful singer, she began to sing to God until she could feel his presence and this made her feel very special, it made her feel like the princess that she had forgotten she was. The next few weeks were so good to her. She shared the gospel of Jesus Christ with her friends. Nicole and Anotida just loved the passion in Adi’s voice whenever she spoke about Jesus.
“How long have you been a Christian?” Anotida asked her.
“For as long as I can remember” she smiled. “I was born into a Christian home but I got to know Christ for myself about 2 years ago. It has not been easy but it has been an amazing journey”
“Oh wow Adi, Jesus seems to make you happy but I could never do it. It’s so hard and I’m so far from perfect” Nicole told her friends.
“If you could be perfect on your own then Jesus would not have come to die for us now would he?” Adi said as she gave them both a wide smile.
“I honestly do not understand the whole dying on the cross thing, it really doesn’t make sense to me. How can one man die for the whole world?”
Anotida asked but she wasn’t looking to get an answer because she really didn’t think there was one.
"Yeah and why would he even say yes to that, you have to admit it's crazy!" Nicole complained.
“Do you know the story of Adam and Eve and the garden of Eden Ano?” Adi asked.
“Yes I do, well not that well but I’ve heard of it, I think we did it in primary school and even when I used to go Sunday school but I was too young to understand it.” Anotida replied.
“Okay, would you like to go and read it over the weekend and we can discuss it on Monday during our break time, you too Nicole if you want” Adi said looking at both of them.
“Sure” they both said though they sounded like they were far from being sure. Adi was happy they agreed, she was excited on the inside but on the outside she simply smiled.

When Adi got home she told her parents about the whole thing. They spoke about salvation as a family and her parents helped her on how to evangelise to her friends. They assured her that the Holy Spirit would help her out and she too was sure of this. They prayed for her friends and they studied the story of Adam and Eve together as a family. Adi was so excited, she couldn’t wait to go to school on Monday to share all she had learnt from her parents.

They had found a new church that they attended every Sunday. It was small and just over a year old but they loved it, they were like a little happy family and they all loved the Lord. For the first time in months Adi was happy to go to church and she even enjoyed the whole experience. Though she had attended that same church for a couple of months it truly felt like it was her first time. She even joined their praise and worship team. Finally she felt at home. Sunday after church she received a surprise phone call, it was from Edward. He was the guy from her old church. She was so happy to hear from him. They spoke on the phone for over an hour.
“I really miss you Adi, when are you going to come visit us, you know church ain’t the same without you” Edward told her.
“I miss you too, but what you mean church ain’t the same without me. Did you used to come to church for me?” Adi said as she laughed
“No, it’s not that I went for you, it’s just that I can tell you’re not there that’s all”.
“Oh, okay fine. I think I can understand that. I’m coming there soon and I’ll spend the weekend and come to church too” said Adi.
“That’ll be nice. I can’t wait” he said.

After that phone call Adi just lay on her bed and spoke to God as usual. “Lord, show me what you have in store for me” she prayed. I don’t have to see all of it but I would like to see a part of it.” She went on to pray for her friends and with that she fell asleep.

Chapter 6

Monday did not come too soon for Adi. When she got to school she was her jovial self and it felt good. Her friends were now used to seeing her happy. Class was fantastic and she was even participating, sometimes she surprised herself. She knew the Holy Spirit was at work within her. Break time came and the girls were ready to talk about Adam and Eve. Mako came to hang out with them that particular break time.
“Mako I don’t think you’ll want to sit with us today” Nicole said as if to chase him away.
“Why not? I’ve enjoyed a lot of breaks with you girls” Mako replied looking a little confused.
“We’re going to talk about the bible” replied his sister.
“Oh, you’re making me sound like I'm the devil” he exclaimed with his hand on his chest.
“You can stay if you want to” Adi shrugged unsure of whether he was interested or not. “You don’t even have to say anything”
“I’ll stay because I’m sure this will be interesting since YOU’RE involved” he emphasised pointing at Nicole as he sat down.
“Fine, suit yourself” Nicole smirked.

Nicole and Anotida explained what they read about Adam and Eve. Adi explained to them how Adam and Eve’s sin separated us from God so God decided to send a perfect sacrifice to reconcile us to God and how we’re made perfect through Christ.
“So how do I know that God really does love me?” asked Anotida
“Because while we were yet sinners, God loved the world that he gave his only son so that who ever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life. His only son being Jesus” Adi explained.
“Wow, so Jesus loves me even now, even though I’m so not perfect?” Nicole Hesitated.
“Yes Nicole, he’s loved you since before you were born, Jesus especially came for that. So that though we are not perfect we may be perfect through Jesus Christ” Adi smiled.
“I am so going to church on Sunday, can I come to yours cause I kind of don’t have a church” Anotida Looked embarrased.
“Me too, if that’s okay?” added Nicole.
“That’ll be fantastic" Adi replied excitedly because she dididn't expect them to jump right in. I’ll ask my mum and dad if we can come and pick you up on Sunday morning. It’s a morning service though” she frowned hoping that wouwouldn't put them off and it ddidn't.. They both agreed to go. Mako did not  say a word, he just listened. Adi didn’t say anything to him either. She wasn’t going to push him. From that day on she spent every break with the girls and when they spoke about God he remained silent. There was a change in all three girls and Mako even noticed but still didn’t comment, however, the girls also noticed a change in Mako but they didn’t want to push him away by mentioning it. By the end of the 3rd month the whole stream saw the change in Nicole and Anotida and they knew it was Jesus. At first they were too shy to admit they had become believers of Christ. They were too concerned about what people would think of them. They felt like the change was too much for the people around them so they did their best to be seen as what they were before.

Mr and Mrs Ishe were so proud of their daughter. The change in her became the change in them, they became a stronger family. Their house was greatly blessed by God. They were both appointed elders in their new church and they were greatly humbled by this. Mrs Ishe got a well paying job and she was blessed to work with people she got along with, both of them were well liked at their work places.

Perfectly Imperfect-Post 1

As usual Adi walked home with her Nicole and Dalia as they lived close to each other and were also best friends.

“Why is there a truck in your driveway Adi?” Nicole asked.
“Yeah and why does it look like there are people taking things out of your house?” asked Dalia. Adi looked confused at this because she could see her mother directing the people that were moving the stuff. They all began to run towards Adi’s house. Soon as she got there her mum says “Honey I’m sorry you have to find out like this but we all did, we’re all moving to another city. I know it’s sudden but I’ve already packed your things and they’re already in the truck honey I’m sorry”. All Adi could do was stand in their driveway in awe, she hoped she was dreaming. Dalia and Nicole looked just as confused. “Mum I don’t want to move!!!” she yelled but her mum just continued with taking stuff to the truck because she didn’t even have time to argue with her daughter about moving.

“Mum, did you hear what I said? Why can’t I stay here? I could stay at Dalia’s or Nicole’s I’m sure their parents would be ok with this” she said following her mum around with tears rolling uncontrollably down her cheeks and her friends were behind her hoping her mum would agree but she didn’t seem to pay much attention. They were crying together because they could not believe they were about to be separated just like that with no warning. Adi and her friends hugged each other as they realised that what they thought was a dream was in actual fact a reality. They wept as they stood in the driveway.
“I don’t even know why we’re moving, they  are just making me move to a town where there’ll be no one I know. A new school and no friends.” Adi cried.
“We’re going to miss you Adi and we’ll visit you as soon as the holidays come” said Dalia as she cried even more at the thought being so far away from her friend. “Friends of the heart are friends forever” Nicole said as she cried as well. Adi’s mum came to where they were and said
“Girls I’m so sorry this is happening. Adi’s dad got a new job, he got a promotion and it required him to move immediately. You’ll make new friends, Dalia and Nicole can visit anytime, you know that don’t you girls?” Mrs Ishe looked at both of them.
“I don’t want new friends, I want the ones I already have here mum!” All four of them began crying and no one said anything. Adi’s dad just stood by the door watching, he knew he was breaking his daughter’s heart but there was nothing he could do. He had been praying for this promotion for a very long time. As he stood there he whispered a prayer to God “Lord, may my family see the good in this promotion and may they realise that where you take us you will take care of us”. He was almost in tears. He knew what his daughter was going through because though he could not say it, he too was not keen on the move. They had to find new friends, a new church. It was going to be hard for them as a family, especially for Adi. He walked over to where they were and said “Adi would you want to stay here until Sunday? You can stay at Dalia or Nicole’s if their parents say its ok and I’ll pick you up on Sunday.” She immediately stopped crying and said “Really dad?” as she wiped the tears away. “Yes really” he smiled. “Oh thank you daddy you’re the best!” she hugged her dad real tight. He knew he had put off the tears for a few more days and it would give them a bit more time to say their goodbyes.
“I’ll go talk to their parents for you and let them know I’ll be coming to pick you up on Sunday”. The girls didn’t waste any time, they went straight to Nicole’s house. “Let’s go before they change their minds” laughed Dalia and they ran off.

Mr and Mrs Ishe held hands and smiled as they watched their daughter and her friends laughing and running, enjoying each other’s company.
“Shall we go my Mrs?” Mr Ishe smiled. “Yes we shall” she smiled back. And they walked to their truck full of most of their possessions and drove off into their new life.

Chapter 2

To the girls it wasn’t long before Mr Ishe had to pick up Adi for the final move. That Sunday morning was a very sad one for them. Mr and Mrs Ishe came early morning so that they could attend church for the last time. Not many people had been informed about their move so when it was announced in church it came as a shock to many people. Their church was very strong in the Lord and they had great love for one another. After church some people shed tears because they were all so close. There was a 17 year old guy who was especially fond of Adi, when he heard the news he could not hold back the tears. He had never told Adi how he felt about her though she had an idea about how he felt because though he tried to hide it he didn’t do it so well. His name was Edward. He was a God-fearing teenager, he was also tall and very handsome and in his eyes he and Adi were a perfect fit because Adi not only loved the Lord but she was also tall. He was the only saved one in his family but he never ceased to pray for the rest of his family.

Shyly he walked up to Adi and stood in front of her. He looked at her playing around with his nails as if to capture the memory so that he would never forget her face. “So you’re leaving town?” he asked
“Yeah, unfortunately. If I had a choice I would stay but I don’t, I will be coming back often though” she forced a smile.
“Well, I will miss you Adi” as he took hold of her hand. She was shocked he even did that.
“I’ll miss you too Edward, I’ll miss everyone here. It’s going to be so hard for me to adjust and find new friends and a good church. Will you, errmmm call me or… write me?” Adi asked as she looked at the floor.
 “I’d love that” he replied.
"Honey we have to go now” Mrs Ishe said from behind her. “Yes mum I’ll be right there”.

The rest of her friends came to say their goodbyes. She looked at Edward knowing that he had more to say but he was too shy to say it and even time wouldn’t permit. Adi had no idea how to handle the whole thing, it was too hard for her. She was confused because she wasn't sure about the way she felt about Edward and she didn’t know what to do about it. Only Dalia and Nicole knew about this. They said their goodbyes and this time they had to go for real. She cried, she couldn’t believe this was it!

She sat at the back of the car and tears were just rolling down her cheeks. She tried to imagine life at this new place but she couldn’t because she was leaving the only home she had ever known, the only home she wanted to know.
“Before you know it you will have settled down and in love with our new home” her dad said.
“I doubt that dad” she whispered as she sat back.

“Dear God” she said in her heart “The truth is I don’t know how to pray about this but I have to talk to you. My heart is breaking because I’m leaving home. I’m going somewhere I’ve never been and people I’ve never met. I miss my friends already. Why are you making us move? Dad said he prayed for this job and you gave it to him, why would you do this to me Lord? Why!!!” she exclaimed in her heart and she began to cry all over again. She was a little upset with God, she blamed him for all this. She fell asleep half way through the journey and she was woken up by her mum.
 “Adi, we’re here”.

She woke up and looked around. “The house is bigger” she whispered “but my friends are not here” she sighed dropping her head. She helped get things out of the car. She loved the house, it was beautiful but she didn’t want to show this to her parents. She wanted to be mad at them for ever for supposedly ruining her life. “So what do you think” Mr Ishe asked her
“It’s alright I think” she muttered and went straight to the room her mum had told her was hers. She went straight into bed. She prayed before falling asleep “God please watch over my family as we sleep, and watch over our friends that we’ve left behind” and she heard a voice say
 “You didn’t leave anything behind”.

Chapter 3

Though Adi was scared of going to a new school she was looking forward to it a little bit beacause she was curious. She wondered what it would be like, what kind of people she would meet. “Are they going to like me?” she thought as she got ready for school. Her mum yelled for her to hurry up so that she wouldn’t be late on her first day.
“I’m done mum, I’ll be there in a minute!” she yelled back and she ran downstairs. “Let’s go” Adi breathed.

“Are you excited?” her mother asked.
“Mum, you know how I feel about this” she rolled her eyes.
“Well Adi maybe this new school will even be better, new friends and new everything. I know God has a good plan for you too, he didn’t bring the whole family here just so that only your dad could get a promotion, we’re a part of this plan as a family” her mum said as she tried to comfort her. Adi thought her mum was only saying it to comfort her but she didn’t realise this was the truth. God does not take you anywhere unless he has a plan for you and unless he can take care of you. Adi didn’t reply to this.

“Is that the school? Mum there’s too many people”
“It’s a bigger town love, it’s bound to have bigger schools and more students.” Silently they walked to the head office so that she could be told what class she would be in.

The Principal assigned her class. She was an intelligent girl, always had high grades so she was put in one of the best classes. She walked into the classroom and told the teacher she had been sent by the head office to that class. “Nice to meet you Adi, let me introduce you to the rest of the class” the teacher said patting her back. “Class listen up, this is Adi she’s our new student. Let’s all make her feel welcome” the teacher smiled.
“You can go and sit next to Nicole.
“ Nicole??” she asked with a puzzled face.
“Yes, is there a problem?”
“Not at all miss” she said as she walked over to this girl who shared the same name with her best friend. She smiled at her as she sat down. “This classroom has too many people” she thought to herself. She was caught up in her thoughts so much that it seemed like it wasn’t long before it was break time. She was not sure if she was going to go with Nicole her desk mate or she would just be by herself during break time. “Do you want to come outside with me and my friend for break?” Nicole asked as she got up.
“Errmm, yes sure. It’s not like I have anywhere else to go” Adi said with a shy smile as she got up and followed her.
“So how old are you Adi?”
 “I’m 15” Adi replied.
“Oh cool, you’re the same age as us. How come you’ve transferred here mid-term?”
“My dad got a new job and we had to move without much notice” said Adi.

“Adi I want you to meet my friend Anotida, Anotida meet Adi” Nicole introduced them. “Nice to meet you” they chorused as they shook hands. “How come I’ve never seen you here before?”
“She’s only just transferred here. Today is her first day in this town and at this school, and guess what? She’s sitting next to me in class” Nicole said with a warm smile.
“Thanks for the info Nicki but I wasn’t even asking you, I was asking Adi” said Anotida and the three of them laughed. “Did you bring something to eat?” Nicole asked Adi.
“I didn’t even think about it, I was just thinking what it was going to be like here” she let out a nervous laugh.
“Well, you can share with me and Anotida today but don’t forget your food tomorrow” Nicole jokingly warned her.
“I’m actually not hungry, I get like this when I go to a new place” Adi replied putting her hands on her stomach.
“Are you sure because we don’t mind?” asked Anotida in a concerned voice. “Yes I’m sure girls, how long is the break?” Adi asked them.
“Only 30 minutes” they both replied in a tone that said “It’s not enough”. Adi smiled. She was missing her friends Dalia and Nicole. “One of my best friends’ name is Nicole as well you know” she said
“ahhhhh, that explains the look on your face when our teacher said to sit next to me” Nicole replied biting into her sandwich.
“Yeah. Your school is big” Adi said looking around but before anyone could respond someone was standing with them. She looked at him as he joked around with Anotida and Nicole but she did not say a word and he did not say hie. After about a minute he turned to her and looked, he stared as if he was waiting for an introduction. There was silence for what felt like 5 minutes but in actual fact was maybe 5 seconds.
“ Adi meet my brother Makomborero” said Nicole finally introducing them “Please call me Mako, all my friends do” he said as he extended his hand. “Hello, I’m Adi” she said as she shook his hand and maintained a straight face even though he smiled at her.
“That’s a beautiful name, what does it mean?” Mako asked curiously.
“It means Jewel” She continued with a straight face
“Oooooh, that’s nice. Anyway I have to go it was nice to meet you miss” he said as he walked away.
“It’s nice that your name has meaning, I don’t even know if my name has meaning at all” Nicole joked as they put their lunch boxes away.

“It’s time to go back to class now, break time’s over” Anotida told Adi. They walked back to class. The teacher called Adi to her desk before the class was settled for the next part of class. “How was your break?” she asked her looking concerned. “It was fine” she replied.
“Ok that’s good, you may take your sit” and she did.

“God let this day be over already” she thought to herself. She could not wait to get home and tell her friends from home that she had made a new friend whose name was also Nicole. This part of class was dragging for her. She just wanted to go home. She kept noticing people looking at her and they didn’t even try to make a secret of it. At some point she wanted to cover her face. “They’re looking at me because I’m new” she whispered to herself when she noticed a lot of her classmates stealing glances.
“Are you ok Adi” Nicole asked.
“Yeah I’m ok but why does everyone keep looking at me?” she asked.
“Don’t mind them, it’s only because you’re new” Nicole smiled.
“It’s making me feel awkward though” Adi replied as she covered her face.

Not long after that school was over for the day and her dad was picking her up. It was her first day and she had not idea how to get anywhere. Nicole, Anotida and Mako walked her to the car park. The other 3 were talking and laughing but she wasn’t used to them so she remained silent. She hoped she would find her dad waiting so that she wouldn’t have to wait with them. She hated small talk. Her dad was waiting by the car park, her heart jumped with joy when she saw him. “There’s my dad, I’ll see you guys tomorrow. Thank you for everything” and with that she ran to her dad’s car.

“Thank you for being on time daddy” she said as she sat in the car.
“Was your first day that bad?” her dad joked.
“No, it wasn’t bad at all. I met some nice people but I just didn’t know what to say that’s all” Adi replied.
“With time you’ll get used and you’ll have plenty to say” Mr Ishe assured her. The drive home was quiet. Her father dropped her home because he had to go back to work. “See you later, mum should be home in a little bit” Mr Ishe said to her as she got out of the car.
“Ok daddy, see you later” and she went inside the house. The first place she visited was the fridge. She hadn’t had anything to eat all day and she was hungry but there wasn’t much in the fridge because her mum hadn’t done proper food shopping. She went upstairs and waited for her mum. She thought about her day and the new friends she had made. She phoned Nicole and Dalia to tell them of her first day. Nicole was well excited about Adi’s new friend who had the same name as her. “This is a sign from God that I should always be in your life” she joked through the laughter. Adi was having so much fun talking to her friends from home and she longed to go back.

“Dear God, I miss my friends so much. It’s so hard to be in a new school but I’m sure you already know this. I really would like to go back but I guess my dad’s happy with his new job so we are staying. Please help me to adjust and bring good godly people in my life. In Jesus’ name amen” she prayed as she lay on her bed.
“Adi!!!” Mrs Ishe yelled. Adi ran downstairs and hugged her mum.
“Mum I’m sooooo hungry, what’s for dinner?” she asked as she sat in the kitchen.
“I don’t know maybe rice and beef stew but you’ll have to help me to make it quick, yes?”
“Yes mother” Adi replied. They cooked dinner and while cooking Mr Ishe got back home. They had a family meal and spoke about their day. Mrs Ishe had gone job hunting and she had a few interviews lined up for the week. Mr Ishe was enjoying the new job already but Adi was the only one complaining. Her parents reassured her that things would get better. In the meantime, they told her, she was to make God her best friend and talk to him about everything because he would be able to help her.
“I’m kind of already doing that” she thought but didn’t say it out loud. “Thank God for the blessing of life and that we have an even better life now than we had before and stop complaining Adi” Mrs Ishe said to her daughter. Adi pondered on this for a while and she agreed with what her mum had said but she didn’t say anything in return. They had a good evening. They all had to have an early night because they all had to start the next day early. “I wish it was the weekend already” moaned Adi. “Good night mum, goodnight dad” she continued as she walked to her room.

Adi thanked God for the day, apologised for complaining all day. She asked God she would be better starting tomorrow. And with that she slept.

Perfectly imperfect-The Book

Dear Reader

The plan here is to upload parts of a book that I wrote in the form of a blog. You know how you wait every week for the next episode of your favourite series? Yeah, that's what I'm going for here. I will upload a few chapters at a time and hopefully you'll love it enough to keep coming back for more!
So we'll call this Season 1,yes? Ok,done! LOL

Much love

Chi
